Among the hubbub of Treefort Fest’s many different forts (Musicfort, Filmfort, Alefort, etc.) lies an opportunity for enlightenment– Yogafort!
While at Treefort ‘22, I took some time to decompress and stretch out between concerts with the help of Yogafort. From adult nap times to deep stretches, Yogafort’s events blended yoga sessions with live performances by local Boise musicians. Yoga enthusiasts and beginners alike all joined together in various venues spread out across Downtown to celebrate the thriving yoga and fitness scenes of Boise.
Treefort is homegrown and holds tremendous local pride, which is what makes it such a special festival. Yogafort was no exception to this homegrown love that abounds at the festival. Run by volunteering yogis from Boise, it became clear that the diverse crowd that accompanied me in downward dog shared one thing in common– they loved their city and yoga community. It was beautiful as an outsider to be welcomed into a tight nit community. The mantras and energy of Yogafort speak to the acceptance and embrace of Boise.
To lovers of yoga and music alike, I highly encourage future Treefort attendees to take advantage of Yoagfort events. Most of them are set in the early morning and afternoon times, so keep mindful of where you’ll be storing your yoga mats between concerts and yoga sessions.
If you need a space to decompress, perhaps take a nap, or just want to feel welcomed into a loving community in Boise, then stretch out at Yogafort!
