On November 18th, the rain and cold of the Portland fall hardly stopped the party from going. Naked Giants and Junior Rocket Scientist played in the Christie Pub Lounge, bringing some psychedelic, grunge rock to a crowd of around 75 individuals. Junior Rocket Scientist, a rock trio from Boise, Idaho, opened the show and got the crowed up and off their feet with a myriad of instruments, breaking out a electric violin in the middle of their show. It was a perfect way to start the show as the band warmed up the crowed with original songs and a cover of ABBA’s Fernando. After a short break where a KDUP shirt was auctioned off and audience members were given a chance to catch their breath, Naked Giants hit the stage. With hits like Ya Ya and Pyramids, Naked Giants knows how to woo crowds with building intros, rocking drums, and hypnotic lyrics. Fans and newcomers alike to the band were up off their feet, feeling the heartbeat of the crowd and the wonder that is fantastic live music. Check out the photo gallery below to see what you missed or be bombarded with good memories from the show, and be on the lookout for more KDUP concerts next semester!
