On a freezing November evening fans sprinted to the growing line outside the Paris Theater for a sold-out show. When the doors opened people rushed to the front of the stage trying to inch their way to the front, but I relaxed in the corner on stage left. UFO UFO opened for the night. They got the whole crowd dancing— you never would have known that it was UFO UFO’s third ever concert.

The chemistry they had between them and the audience made it seem like they had been playing for years. The crowd moved as a unit hanging on to every last lyric. After a short half hour set, they left the crowd wanting more, and googling their name.

Deal Casino started their set off strong with the bass thumping song “Color TV.” Some fans were left what looked like shell shocked with mouths open as the bass just enveloped the room. The energy of the room changed slightly to fit Deal Casino, and their song. Heads bobbed in unison as the song came to a strong ending. They quickly introduced themselves as Deal Casino and went straight into their next song “Red Balloon.” For the fans who recognized the song they immediately started singing along. Soon almost everyone was screaming along to the song as the band danced across the stage. Joe Parella talked a little bit as they transitioned into a completely different sound with “French Blond.” They really kept fan on their toes with their closing song “Father’s Day.” The song starts out slow with only Joe Parella singing and starts out very somber until Joe Rodney comes in with the bass; Joe Cowell and Chris Donofrio soon follow. Soon you are rocking out just as hard to this song as you had to the past songs.

As The Wrecks walked on stage the entire theater went wild. They started their set off with “Figure This Out.” The crowd immediately began singing and dancing along to the song. The lead singer Nick Anderson would turn the mic around during the chorus and everyone would scream at the top of their lungs the lyrics. This continued throughout their set; all their songs were high intensity except the acoustic version of “Revolution.” For “Revolution” Nick Anderson didn’t even sing the second verse of the song; he left it up to the fans.

The Wrecks debuted some new songs such as “The Life I Have.” Throughout their they would joke that they almost have enough songs for an entire set. They only have eight songs, but appear to be working on some more. During each song, the members would dance across the stage really getting into the music and interacting with the crowd. As their set came to a close the fans weren’t ready for it to end. They all began to chant “One more song!” They chanted this for a few minutes before they began to file out again; however, the band ended up playing another new song. Nick Anderson even climbed the side barrier to sing to the very outskirts of the theater.

Overall this was an amazing concert to go to. I highly suggest going to see any of these band live. They all have a distinctly different sound that caters to everyone. Even though it was UFO UFO’s third ever concert they play like they own the stage. They are Definitely a band to look out for! Deal Casino just has amazing onstage chemistry that tells you they absolutely love what they are doing, and they know how to get you dancing along to their songs. The Wrecks are just high energy from the start of their set to the very end. They constantly get the crowd involved in what they’re doing making the experience even more personal. All are just absolutely amazing to see live, and if you ever get the chance to see them live you should take it. It is an experience like no other.
