After looking at the article “Why Does Music Feel So Good?” by Virginia Hughes published March 5 on the National Geographic Snapchat post, we decided to dedicate this show to the music that made us, and still makes us, get chills.

Going into the brain chemistry as to why music does, in fact, give us so much pleasure, the article lays out how music simultaneously activates past channels created by music you love as well as bringing up memories and images related to the music, combining to one chilling experience.

For new music, hughes writes that, “New music is presumably rewarding not only because it fits implicitly learned patterns but because it deviates from those patterns, however slightly.”

All in all, super interesting. We hope that the music we play on our show causes you to get chills, both today and every day.
