First Things, a conservative, Catholic magazine and website dedicated to creating “religiously informed public policy” for society, is currently taking applications for next year’s junior fellowships in Manhattan, New York. Fellowships last a year (August 2013-August 2014) and generally offer the extension of a second year as an assistant director. Participants join the editorial staff of the magazine and do everything from fact checking to editing submissions and writing for the blog. Participants receive a stipend as well as an apartment in a townhouse owned by the Community of Christ in the city just twelve minutes away from the office near Union Square. Those interested in editorial work and religious publishing should apply.
Applications will be accepted from graduating seniors until March 15th. Send a resume, a 250-word description of why you are interested in the position, two short writing samples, and three references (one of whom knows your writing abilities) to firstthingsfellows@firstthings.com.
