The Commonweal is a Catholic magazine based in Manhattan’s Upper West Side near Columbia University. They are offering two internships for the spring or summer 2014 to Catholic writers, journalists, theologians, and critics. Undergraduate, graduate, or recently graduated students are welcomed to apply. Interns will participate in daily tasks such as: assisting editors, proofreading, manuscript review, and projects. They may even have the opportunity to publish some of their own writing on the website!
Schedules will be arranged according to availability, but you should be able to go to the office at least two days a week. Although housing is not offered, you will receive a small stipend to help lower living expenses.
To apply, send a letter describing your interest, religious background, and familiarity with the Commonweal. Include your academic and writing qualifications, and include samples if necessary.
