For UP students, this weekend brings the start of fall break, but for literary Portland, it’s Wordstock—our city’s annual festival celebrating books and those who write them. The festivities, all to be held at the Oregon Convention Center, kick off on Thursday night, October 11th, with “Poets Slam Wordstock.” The fair continues Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with lectures, readings, writing workshops, and informational sessions. Wordstock provides a great opportunity to hear local authors, encounter new books, and to celebrate the written word! Tickets are $7.
