Editorial Internship:
20 hours per week, 5 days a week
Duties
- Fact-checking articles
- Assisting editors with research and reporting
- Writing short news stories
Qualifications: detail-oriented, responsible, well-read, curious, knowledgeable about Portland, and either a journalism, communications, English, or history student (particularly those active with campus publications and are interested in a career in journalism)

Web Editorial Internship:
20 hours per week in 4-5 hour shifts, 4 or 5 days a week
Duties
- Uploading magazine content to website using content management system
- Writing original content for site, including blogs and events listings
- Assisting editors in conceptualizing and executing web exclusives such as slide shows and video/audio content
- Participating in team brainstorming meetings
- Assisting with administrative tasks
- Opportunities to write shorter and/or longer stories
Qualifications: savvy (but not web obsessed), keen interest in Portland, interest in a large range of cultural topics (food, drink, arts, culture, current events, and news), willing to pitch in, detail-oriented, diligent fact checking, and either a English, literature, journalism, or creative writing student (particularly those with editorial experience and strong interests in magazine writing)
Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, and content management systems is helpful but not required.
