Planning for life after college is extremely unnerving. We prepare ourselves for the job search, hoping that our education taught us the skills to succeed. In the backs of our minds, we know that hands on experience is vital; sitting in a classroom can only teach us the concepts and we must apply them to action ourselves. Internships have become the platform by which college undergrads can put their knowledge to the test in a real, “adulting” job. Equipped with the fundamentals learned in class, interns gain experience and skills required by specific industries that cannot, necessarily, be taught in traditional classroom settings. To help further student’s opportunities to acquire internships, companies have been coming to the UP campus and recruiting students for summer internships. These companies span a few disciplines including accounting and finance.
We are happy to continue hosting these companies and proud of our UP students that spend summers learning from the source. See what some of the summer interns of 2017 have to say about their experiences.
