Willamette Boulevard Closure, Now through Early Fall

May 27, 2016

road closed DTThe Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is closing Willamette Boulevard to northbound traffic from May 23 through early Fall 2016, in order to build a retaining wall between Chase and Washburne avenues. The westbound/northbound lane carrying traffic toward the University will be closed to all motorized vehicle traffic all hours and all days during the project duration. A detour along Lombard will be in effect for re-routed traffic. Southbound/eastbound traffic on Willamette will be maintained and will remain unchanged during the project. Local access to residents near the project will be provided at all times. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic will be allowed to use the sidewalks on the north side of Willamette during the course of construction. The southbound/eastbound bicycle lane will remain open, even during the partial road closure.
