Staff Appreciation Day with Pilot Volleyball, Sept. 20

Faculty and staff, please join the athletics office for Staff Appreciation Day at the Pilot volleyball game on September 20. All staff get 2 free adult tickets with their UP ID while all kids get in free! At 9-0, this is the best start in UP volleyball history. Help us start off conference play against Pepperdine at 7 p.m. Thursday and Saturday at noon versus LMU.
Also join us on Merlo Field for a PNW rivalry game as the men’s soccer team takes on Oregon State at 7:00 PM on Friday, September 21, and be sure to wear your WE ARE PORTLAND t-shirts to celebrate Purple Friday.

Volleyball Set to Open Conference Play at Home

All campus community members are encouraged to gather up co-workers, friends, and family and make their way to the Chiles Center on Thursday night as the Pilots volleyball team starts its West Coast Conference play. The Pilots will host the Pacific Tigers from Stockton, California at 7 p.m.

Following Thursday night’s action the Pilots will then turn their attention to a Saturday home match with Saint Mary’s at 1 p.m. Tickets for both matches are on sale now at the Pilots Box Office, online at www.portlandpilots.com/tickets, or by calling x7525. We hope to see you at the game as the Pilots look to open conference play with two big wins.

Volleyball Return Home to Host Nike Invitational Tournament

The Pilots volleyball team returns home this week for three home games in the Chiles Center and to play as the host for the 2017 Nike Invitational Tournament. The action starts on Wednesday as the Pilots take on cross-town rival Portland State at 7:00 PM. The tournament continues throughout the week with the Pilots playing one game on Friday night at 5:00 PM and on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM. Women’s Volleyball Home Game, Sept. 1

Portland Pilots Volleyball is back in action against Fresno State at the Chiles Center on Friday, Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. Faculty and staff will get in for free by showing their UP ID at the door.

UP Volleyball Last Home Match, Nov. 21

volleyballPilot volleyball’s last home match of the year is Monday, November 21, which also means it’s Senior Night! The match is against WCC rival Gonzaga at 5 p.m. in the Chiles Center. The 2016 senior class, consisting of Katie Sullivan, Brittney Markwith, Monica Gajda, and Djurdjina Milovic, will be honored before the Pilots face Gonzaga. With eight WCC wins, the Pilots have recorded the most league victories since 1989. Please come cheer them on as they try to claim their highest conference placing since 1991.

Gold Medal For Brent Crouch

Crouch_Brent-web copyPortland Pilots head volleyball coach Brent Crouch led the USA Volleyball Collegiate National Team to a gold medal last week at the U22 Global Challenge, held in Pula, Croatia. They defeated China in the finals to claim the 12th annual European Global Challenge Championship. The team also defeated England and Slovenia on the way to the title. The Global Challenge began in Salt Lake City, Utah, as a modest volleyball tournament with a few foreign teams. Today, it has grown to a 32-team international invitational featuring top teams in u17 and u22 divisions from around the world.

Volleyball Returns Home For WCC Matches

The action in the Chiles Center starts on Thursday night when the Pilots take on San Francisco at 7 p.m.. Then on Halloween Day, the Pilots take the court versus Santa Clara at noon.

Volleyball Returns to Action in the Chiles Center

The team, with a record of 11-3, is set to play Pepperdine at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Loyola Marymount at 12 noon on Saturday. Founded by Fr. Richard Berg, C.S.C.
