US State Department

Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs Campus Visit, Sept. 12

September 7, 2018

On Wednesday, September 12, Rebecca Gailey, special assistant for the Office of Global Educational Programs within the Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, will be visiting the UP campus. Faculty members who are interested in learning more about Department of State sponsored education programs are invited to a casual conversation over lunch in the Priest’s Dining Room from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on September 12. This is a no-host lunch.

Rebecca Gailey assists office leadership with developing and administering a variety of exchange programs for U.S. and foreign students, teachers, and professionals. She works closely with the USA Study Abroad branch on communication and outreach for the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program, the Critical Language Scholarship Program, and the U.S. Study Abroad Capacity Building Grants Program.

Careers In The State Department Information Session, Oct. 21

Lukens copyAll are welcome to join Lewis Lukens, U.S. Diplomat in Residence for the Northwest, for “Careers in the State Department” on Tuesday, October 21, from 4 to 5 p.m., in the career services office in Orrico Hall. The U.S. Department of State is the leading U.S. foreign affairs agency responsible for advancing freedom for the benefit of the American people and the international community. The department selects and hires employees who can accomplish America’s mission of diplomacy at home and around the world, including foreign service officers (FSO), foreign service specialists (FSS) and civil cervice (CS) professionals.
