All UP community members can show their UP pride and help support Doernbecher Children’s Hospital by joining the UP Shamrock Run team, according to Liz Winters, recreational services. The race is Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Waterfront Park in downtown Portland. Last year the University of Portland team was the fourth largest locally and had 147 runners and walkers. We also raised more than $700 for programs within the UP community.
This year the goal is to make UP’s Shamrock Run team 250 people strong. As an added bonus, if there are at least 75 members on the team, the Shamrock Run will donate $5 per person back to support programs at UP. Students, employees, alumni, Holy Cross, and friends of the UP community are all welcome to join. Sign-up soon, as registration closes Tuesday, January 31.
To join the UP team, you must register online at this link (choose the “team” option; the UP Team Code is 1070). Team members receive a $4 registration discount. Packet pick-up (race t-shirts, pins, and bibs) will be at the Beauchamp Center the week before the race.

Organizers would like to thank all who participated in the University of Portland’s 2016 Shamrock Run team, supporting Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. More than 140 UP walkers and runners representing students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends braved the rain, wind, and cold to complete the race on Sunday, March 13. UP made super team status, raising an additional $710 for programs at the University.

Last year the UP race team consisted of roughly 160 runners and walkers and was the 7th largest team at the race. We were able to raise nearly $800 for the Beauchamp Recreation & Wellness Center.

All faculty and staff are invited to show their UP pride and help out a great cause by joining the University’s Shamrock Run team. The run/walk takes place on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Waterfront Park in downtown Portland. Those who join the team will get some great UP gear and will be able to pick up their race packets with official race shirt, race bib, and UP gear, on campus a week before the race.

Last year, the UP team was the 8th largest at the Shamrock Run, consisting of 157 runners and walkers. Because of the great turnout, we were able to raise $785 for the Bill Reed Scholarship Fund. This year, if we have at least 75 members on the UP team, Shamrock Run will donate $5 per person to the University’s Recreation and Wellness Center, which will break ground in May 2014.
