Moreau Center’s Border Immersion program

It’s Tamale Time! Support Border Immersion Trip

TamalesThe Moreau Center will offer a tamale sale in support of the Border Immersion Trip on Tuesday, February 17 and Wednesday, February 18. Vegeta­rian and chicken tamales will be sold at $2 each and $20 a dozen in the Bauccio Commons between 11:20 a.m. and 12:45 p.m., and 5 to 7 p.m. on both days. Questions can be directed to border.immersion@up.edu.

Parents Night Out Fundraiser

February 11, 2013

The Moreau Center’s Border Immersion program is offering a babysitting night to raise funds for their upcoming immersion, according to Pat Ell, Moreau Center. The event will take place on Saturday, February 23, from 5 to 10 p.m., at the Vermont Hills Family Life Center UP daycare house. Children will be taken care of by professional staff and UP students. The Border Immersion is an opportunity for UP students to spend a week at the Mexico-U.S. border, learning about immigration and human rights issues. There is a suggested donation of $10 per hour and $5 per additional sibling. Contact Elizabeth Polsin at polsin14@up.edu or Derek Block at block15@up.edu to reserve a spot.
