UP’s Kevin White: Best Turftender in the USA!

November 30, 2018

The Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) has announced its 2018 Field of the Year award winners, and UP’s Merlo Field was named as the Top College and University Soccer field in the nation. Our very own Kevin White, the athletics department’s athletic field manager, was named as well.

A panel of 13 judges independently scored entries based on playability, appearance of surfaces, utilization of innovative solutions, effective use of budget, and implementation of a comprehensive agronomic program. Winners receive a plaque, recognition at the STMA annual awards banquet, and will be featured in a 2019 issue of Sports Turf Magazine, the official monthly publication of STMA.

Awards will be presented at the 30th annual STMA Conference & Exhibition in Phoenix, Arizona, January 22-25, 2019. Please be sure to congratulate Kevin on his big win, and stay off the grass!
