UP Fine Arts Faculty Show, Feb. 10-March 5

Works by members of the University’s fine arts faculty will be featured in Buckley Center Gallery from Monday, February 10 to Thursday, March 5. All are invited to experience artwork by this diverse and talented group. The artists that show their work professionally in addition to teaching classes in painting, photography, ceramics, drawing, printmaking, design, and sculpture. Many of them will be on hand for conversation and questions about their work at the opening reception on Thursday, February 13, 5 to 7 p.m., in the BC Gallery. Refreshments will also be served.

This show gives the viewer a glimpse into the creative vision of eight different artists: Elaine Powell-Ashcroft (drawing, printmaking), Pat Bognar (BW photography/darkroom), Bruce Conkle (painting, design) Kowkie Durst (ceramics), Karen Esler (drawing, painting), Fr. Mark Ghyselinck, C.S.C. (painting, drawing), Milan Rakich (sculpture), and Shawn Records (digital photography).

The University of Portland offers a fine arts minor which requires students to investigate a wide range of visual art disciplines. For more information contact PFA at x7228 or pfa@up.edu.

PFA Faculty Show in Buckley Gallery: Input Welcome!

Members of the visual arts faculty of the performing and fine arts department have a combined art show in Buckley Center Gallery from October 21 to November 16. All faculty, staff, and students are welcome to drop by and see the amazing work of the University’s artists, including Elaine Powell-Ascroft, Pat Bognar, Victoria Christen,  Bruce Conkle, Kowkie Durst, Karen Esler, Rev. Mark Ghyselinck, C.S.C., Mylan Rakich, and Shawn Records. The show includes digital as well as traditional photographs, paintings, drawings, sculptures, and ceramics. Feedback using the comment book provided in the gallery or through email to pfa@up.edu is most welcome.

Visual Arts Faculty Art Show, Oct. 21-Nov. 13

Members of the visual arts faculty of the performing and fine arts department are having a combined art show in  Buckley Center Gallery from October 21 to November 13. All faculty, staff, and students are welcome to drop by and see the amazing work of the University’s artists. The show will include digital as well as traditional photographs, paintings, drawings, sculptures, and ceramics.

An artists’ reception will take place on Monday, October 23, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Elaine Powell-Ascroft, Pat Bognar, Victoria Christen,  Bruce Conkle, Kowkie Durst, Karen Esler, Rev. Mark Ghyselinck, C.S.C., Mylan Rakich, and Shawn Records will be present to greet visitors and answer questions and discuss their artwork.
