FIXIT UP

Fixit UP, Thursday, March 21

March 15, 2019

Next Thursday, March 21, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. (please note: this is a new time from previous upbeat notices), the College Ecology Club is hosting Fixit UP  in the Pilot Space (Shiley 110). All are welcome to stop by and bring in broken clothes, jewelry, small appliances, bikes, and electronics to have them fixed for free by skilled volunteers.

The Ecology Club invites all to participate and sign up to volunteer at the event. As a participant, you can help reduce waste in our community by bringing in broken items and having them repaired instead of throwing them away. As a volunteer, you can help sign in and direct participants, repair jewelry, sharpen knives, and fix clothing, electronics, bikes or small appliances. If you’d like to volunteer, please sign up! Volunteer Form HERE.

Please forward this information to others who might like to know about the event. The College Ecology Club humbly asks that you mention the event in class, send an email to students, announce the event on Moodle class discussion boards, etc.

For more information contact Ruby Beauchamp, CEC president, at beauchar20@up.edu.

March 8, 2019

The College Ecology Club will present its annual Fixit UP event on Thursday, March 21, from 3 to 6 p.m., in the Makers Space in Shiley Hall. The club needs volunteers, such as bike mechanics, sewers, electronics fixers, jewelry fixers, and others, to help them hold this event. If you are interested in participating in this event, or know anyone who would like to, please let organizers know as soon as possible. Contact Maya Hurst at hurstm19@up.edu, and let her know your skill and if you have your own supplies for fixing stuff (e.g. sewing machines, tools), or if you will need tools to be provided.
