Remembering MLK: Interpretations of Change, Jan. 21

January 18, 2019

The University will celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Day on Monday, January 21, featuring Diversity Dialogues at 4:15 p.m. in the Chapel of Christ the Teacher. The guest speaker will be Erin Jones, a longtime educator and former administrator with Tacoma Public Schools, who will speak about her experience as a black woman in her field and how to continue Dr. King’s legacy and work.

Remembering MLK: Interpretations of Change is sponsored by the Moreau Center, ASUP, Diversity and Inclusion Programs, Social Justice Coordinators, and the Black Student Union. For questions or ADA accommodations contact kahambwe22@up.edu.

Natalie Nelson-Marsh, communication studies, participated as a panelist at the BizWomen Coalition Thought Leader Forum on January 26. Nelson-Marsh was invited as an expert to participate in the discussion of “Organizational Transformation – The Impact of COVID on the Future of Work.” Nelson-Marsh also attended a Western States Communication Association (WSCA) Teaching Workshop about “Preparing Students to Self-Advocate and Articulate the Value of Communication to Future Employers.”
