A long-lost overdue book was recently returned to Clark Library, having been checked out in 1963. This might be the record for the longest overdue book in Clark Library’s history. A delightful exchange between the borrower and the Interim Dean of the Library ensued. Verena Hutter presented “Embodied Memory: Holocaust Tattoos and Postmemory,” served as presiding officer of all three sessions of Austrian Studies, and chaired one of them. María Echenique presented “A Precursor of ‘Feminism from the Zulos’ by Dahlia de la Cerda” and served as presiding officer and chair of the session Spain, Portugal, and Latin America: Jewish Culture and Literature in Trans-Iberia. Matthew Warshawsky presented “A ‘Tenth Muse’ in 1600s Sephardic Amsterdam: Isabel Rebeca Correa, Translator, Poet, and Feminist” and served as presiding officer and chair of the Jewish Literature and Culture session.
