T.L.C. from the TLC: Tip Of The Week

January 8, 2016

coffee.jpgAs the new term gets underway, faculty have probably made several resolutions for their classrooms, perhaps incorporating feedback from recent course evaluations. To provide steady, straightforward resources for honing their craft, the Teaching & Learning Collaborative (TLC) offers a Tip of the Week in each issue of upbeat. Each is compact enough to be read or viewed in the length of time it takes to drink a cup of coffee.

A variety of common teaching concerns are addressed in a rotation that includes: accessible education, technology, internationalization, efficiency and teaching millennials. Resources include links to brief videos, white papers, and strategy articles from publications such as The Teaching Professor. Faculty should look in their mailboxes in the next week for a coupon good for a coffee purchased from Bon Appetit, redeemable at any of the coffee kiosks on campus.

Those who have ideas for resources the TLC could provide in this manner, or questions to be tackled, please contact Karen Eifler at eifler@up.edu. The TLC will also publicize workshops and brown bag sessions hosted by the many units on campus dedicated to supporting excellent teaching.
