Watzke Accepts Graduate School Dean Position

School of Education dean John Watzke has agreed to accept an additional appointment as Dean of the Graduate School, according to University president Rev. Mark L. Poorman, C.S.C. His appointment is effective immediately.

Watzke has ably led the School of Education (SOE) since 2010. During that time, the SOE has frequently been home to the University’s largest population of graduate students. He has successfully launched several community engagement programs, established a doctoral program, and built upon the SOE’s reputation for excellence. Recently, he led institutional efforts in support of Strategy B of UP’s strategic plan, “Vision 2020.”  Strategy B focuses upon expanding the University’s relevant, excellent, and self-sustaining graduation education programs.

Please join the UP administration in thanking and congratulating John Watzke for accepting this additional responsibility to serve the UP community.

Graduate Student Exit Survey Coming Soon

November 16, 2018

All graduate students who will be completing a degree program this semester will soon receive an email from the Graduate School requesting that they complete an exit survey. The exit survey will ask for program feedback and information about future plans. All students who complete it will be entered to win a drawing for a $50 gift card to the UP bookstore. Deans and Graduate Program directors/coordinators will receive a report of the survey responses at the end of the semester. Any questions can be directed to gradschl@up.edu or x7107.
