I think this is a very interesting topic, and one that is important, yet greatly ignored. We talk about exploitation of the worker, as well as exploitation of women in the labor sector, yet this has never been brought up, but is one of the biggest sacrifices a third world woman can make. It doe not only effect her day to day well being, but it also is a significant health risk for both the woman and the baby; it can be lethal to both. I appreciate that you included pros and cons because it helped to see the issue from both sides in order to form a well informed opinion. I think this is a great infographic that helps bring attention to a very significant and important issue.
I love your infographic, straight to the point, and very informative. I personally thought about this topic a lot as surrogacy was the hot-button topic in my marriage class the other day. you should share this with Dr.Duff (!) Not only “rent a womb” undermines female bodies as commodities, you also highlighted the state imperialism that even affect women’s whole well-beings in India. I was trying to think how infertile women can benefit from international surrogacy without exploiting poor populations, but not sure about practical solution for this.
Your infographic is amazing at explaining the issue of transnational surrogacy. Your use of comparison with the pros and cons columns layout the issue very clearly. It is easy to follow and very informative.
