This was a really informative piece that did a great job at raising the question about everyday items. I never really think to much about food when it comes to globalization. I love Hershey’s chocolate – but I’m not surprised their not on the list. As with most product for consumers – it cost more when you decide to buy ethical.
I liked your infographic in it’s abiity to get your information across. Now I will definitely think twice about what chocolate I buy, especially considering my favorite brands aren’t even on the list. It’s always interesting to think about where food is being grown and distributed and the exploitation of worker, in this case farmers. I think it’s a good idea as consumers to be conscious of the foods that we get, even luxuries like chocolate.
