The Portland Trail Blazers are a professional basketball team based in Portland, Oregon and are a part of the Northwest Division of the Western Conference in the National Basketball Association. I have been working with the Portland Trail Blazers for almost a year as the Ticket Operations Intern where I work alongside with the Sales team. My internship consists of a variety of tasks and responsibilities. However, one of my main jobs as the Ticket Operations Intern is to process and print all of the CRM orders. A customer relationship management system (CRM) allows companies to manage their interactions with their current and future customers. At the Portland Trail Blazers, all ticket requests whether it’s a single game purchase or suite packages, get processed through CRMS.

I really enjoy working for the Blazers. I have been very lucky because I have gotten to see many aspects of the corporation as a whole. Being an intern during the 2014-15 season showed me just how fast paced the sports industry can be. By working into the summer months, I’ve been able to see a completely different side of work. The office definitely mellows out during the off season, but with the hype and preparation needed for the upcoming season the excitement never dies out. As the Ticket Operations Intern, I have learned the ins and outs of a brand new ticketing system, but most importantly I’ve learned just how much work and effort goes into each and every aspect of the sports industry. Work doesn’t stop once 5 o’clock rolls around, you’re expected to put in all your effort and stay late to work games or meet with important clients. Yet, the fast paced environment and excitement from the fans definitely makes my internship a thousand times better.
