Hi, my name is Sukhman Dhillon, I’m from Vancouver, Washington. I am currently a Junior pursuing a double degree major in Biology and Environmental Ethics and Policy, with a focus on the pre-law route.

I am participating in this experience because I am deeply intrigued by the rich historical significance of excavating an ancient city that spans from Roman times to the Muslim era in the 13th century. I see this opportunity as a chance to immerse myself in the traces of past civilizations, gaining a firsthand understanding of how different cultures and religions have interacted and influenced each other for centuries. The question that I am curious about exploring would be the relationship between religious beliefs, social structures, and political ideologies within the context of the ancient city. By examining the material remains and cultural artifacts of these different periods, I hope to shed light on the ways in which religious practices and beliefs intersected with daily life and  communities.

The area of leadership development that I will be focusing on will be Reflective, I will strive to increase my capacity to learn by expanding both personal and organizational knowledge. I also plan to integrate the values learned into practical applications, finding ways to improve team performance and achieving collective goals more effectively. My aim is to grow as a leader and enhance my impact on others. I will expand personal and organizational knowledge and capabilities by observing, recording, and offering feedback on work. By integrating the values learned I will make a habit of assessing by actively listening, asking incisive questions, and expressing my thoughts completely. I will also be sure to actively seek feedback from supervisors, and peers to improve my performance throughout my journey in Spain.
