Monday was a great day working on the site itself as Michael and I had the opportunity to work on one of the graves. The two of us had the opportunities to learn about the different way that a body may have been positioned when they were buried with the respect to their religion. They would be buried on their sides if they were muslim facing Mecca and if they were any other religion they would be laying on their back, which was interesting and fun to learn. Cleaning up the grave itself was difficult as the dust was becoming one with us and it felt like there were never ending piles of dirt that continued to be accumulated within the grave itself.
Getting sick and having to miss out working on the site is not something that I was expecting, come Tuesday morning waking up with a sore throat and a pounding headache made it not the best morning. Getting homesickness while being sick also didn’t help the situation, and I spent most of the day sleeping and drinking tea, trying to get as healthy as I could before our trip to Barcelona, which was an amazing time to get sick (Please note the sarcasm). But I know that I will be fine in the next day or so, or at least I hope so.
Signing off,
