MoveUP Lead Student Directors
These positions begin in February 2026 with training and mentorship provided by the current MoveUP Directors through the end of the 2025–2026 academic year. The Directors will serve as key ambassadors for MoveUP’s sustainability and waste-reduction mission.
Director of Project Management
Position Overview:
The Project Management Student Leader oversees operational planning, logistics, and day-to-day coordination of all MoveUP programs, ensuring smooth donation, redistribution, and Marketplace operations year-round. The role requires strong organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks across teams and partners. Working closely with MoveUP leads and University stakeholders, this position maintains efficient workflows, supports sustainability goals, and ensures a positive experience for students and community partners. It is a hands-on role, especially during move-in and move-out, ideal for a student skilled in planning, communication, and team coordination.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead Operations & Representation: Represent MoveUP’s mission and goals when meeting with key stakeholders and engaging with students, faculty, staff, and community organizations.
Project & Logistics Management: Use project management software to coordinate donation logistics, collaboration with community partners, and overall operational timelines.
Student Worker Oversight: Hire, train, schedule, and supervise the student assistant team supporting donation drives and Marketplace operations.
Inventory & Marketplace Coordination: Manage inventory tracking, rental payments, and operational logistics for the MoveUP Marketplace.
Campus Partnership Coordination: Meet with University partners to organize permissions, space access, and operational support for MoveUP activities.
Data Tracking & Reporting: Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for donation volumes, redistribution metrics, and Marketplace performance.
Director of Marketing
Position Overview:
The Marketing Student Leader will manage MoveUP’s branding, communications, and outreach strategy, ensuring clear and engaging messaging across campus. This leadership position plays a vital role in shaping how students understand and participate in MoveUP’s sustainability efforts. The Director of Marketing leads creative campaigns, designs digital and print materials, manages social media and website content, and coordinates with campus partners to maintain consistent branding. This role is highly collaborative and hands-on, contributing to donation drives, Marketplace visibility, and student engagement initiatives. As a key ambassador for MoveUP, the marketing lead helps advance the program’s mission to reduce waste, promote reuse, and foster a more sustainable campus culture.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead Branding & Outreach: Represent MoveUP’s mission and goals when engaging with students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
Marketing & Design: Create engaging digital and print materials using Canva and other tools for Instagram, campus screens, and event promotion.
Campaign Development: Plan and execute strategic marketing campaigns aligned with MoveUP’s branding, tone, and sustainability goals.
Digital Presence: Maintain MoveUP’s website and social media presence to inform and engage the campus community.
Event Promotion: Support visibility and participation for move-in, move-out, and donation drives.
Collaboration: Work closely with the other members of the MoveUP team, student clubs, university departments, and local nonprofit partners.
Hands-On Support: Participate in move-in and move-out operations, including assisting with item collection, sorting, and setup when needed.
Project Reporting: Document program outcomes and conduct surveys and interviews to evaluate program impact and student engagement for grant reporting.
