Portland, OR – The University of Portland will hold its 116th Commencement on Sunday, May 7, at the Earle A. and Virgina H. Chiles Center. There will be two ceremonies, Commencement I and Commencement II, in order to accommodate all graduating students and their respective guests.
Commencement I will begin at 10 a.m. and confer degrees on 522 graduating students of the Pamplin School of Business, Shiley School of Engineering and the School of Nursing.
Commencement II will begin at 3 p.m. and confer degrees on 403 graduating students of the College of Arts and Sciences and School of Education, following the Family Luncheon the University will host from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Baccio Commons for all graduates and their guests, faculty and staff.
Each commencement ceremony will last about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Doors will be open to the public an hour before each ceremony, at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectfully. All guests must be seated 10 minutes before their given ceremony begins.
Celia Hammond, vice chancellor of the University of Notre Dame Australia, will be the featured speaker.

Photographers will be taking photos of individual graduates at each commencement ceremony, which will be available for viewing and purchase at www.gradimages.com.

Information booths will be open at the Pilot House, Bauccio Commons and Chiles Center on:
- Saturday, May 6: 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Sunday, May 7: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
