The Franz Center is hosting an innovation workshop, “Discover Innovation @ UP,” on Saturday, September 21st starting at 10:00 am. The workshop will feature a keynote by Paul O’Connor, Executive Director at Ziba as well as a session on Design Thinking and a primer on how innovation is coming to the University of Portland programs and majors.
According to Eric Anctil, Director for Innovation in the Franz Center, the main goal of the Workshop is “to provide an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to see how innovation is made tangible in the ‘real world’ beyond campus.” Anctil says that “students who attend the workshop will be given an opportunity to explore their big, innovative ideas as they’re relevant to their major and program. Our goal is to help demystify the innovation process and bring the language and practice of innovation to the University of Portland community in very concrete ways.”
The Workshop is open to all students in all majors who are curious to learn more about innovation and how to make their big ideas reality.
