Internships Available with Prichard Communications

Prichard Communications is currently looking for two interns to begin work in January!  Prichard Communications is a communications agency in downtown Portland offering services to philanthropies, nonprofits and public agencies nationwide.  Anyone with a background in technology and social media should apply!  These are part-time, unpaid positions, however school credit is available.  See below for more details.

Digital Accounts Intern:

20 hrs/week

Start Date: January 7 (approximate)

End Date: March 29 (approximate)

Responsibilities:
— Research blogs and bloggers; draft pitches and blog posts; assist with creating and entering content for clients’ online sites
— Monitor press coverage of clients and provide weekly reports — both mainstream media and the social web
— Provide day-to-day account support as needed. This can include internet research, brainstorming ideas, helping to build memos, emails, trainings or reports, or other tasks as assigned.
— Occasional corporate communications event duties; past interns have coordinated event logistics for one-day staff retreats, off-site professional development trainings, team building events, etc.
— Monitor and interpret online/social analytics, create monthly reports and summaries
— Light administrative/receptionist duties as needed
— Attend various client calls and internal meetings when required
— Make one presentation on a topic as assigned (internal or to clients)

Qualifications:
— Proven editing and online writing skills
— Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks, details and deadlines
— Experience with Twitter and Facebook, preferably in a professional capacity
— Strong people skills
— A coachable demeanor and a hunger to always get better
— PR/Marketing/Journalism background or coursework
— Knowledge of AP style
— Knowledge of and/or interest in the nonprofit sector
— Must have own laptop with Microsoft Office

Mac’s List Digital and Social Media Intern

20 hrs/week

3-4 month position

Must be available on Tuesdays

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Compile Mac’s List weekly e-newsletter every Tuesday at 2pm.
-Update and monitor social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube using Hootsuite.
-Help to manage our Salesforce database and update our client list
-Create a weekly blog post compiling all the new jobs for the week
-Create a bi-weekly blog post relevant to job-hunting in Portland
-Create advertising materials including brochures, slides and one-pagers
-Send out emails to advertisers including Google Analytics metrics

Qualifications:
-Proven editing and writing skills
-Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines
-Strong preference for experience with Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn preferably in a professional capacity
-Strong people skills
-PR/Marketing background or coursework
