“This award is presented annually by the University’s Committee on Teaching and Scholarship to a faculty member who presents unusually significant and meritorious achievement in professional scholarship during the past two academic years, and whose work substantively enhances the effectiveness of classroom teaching. Our award this year is a rare and admirable example of a scholar renowned nationally and internationally for her creative inquiry, for the remarkable range and volume of her work, and for the manner in which her work has earned her the most competitive grants in the world of science. From cellular interactions to human and primate behavior, from inquiry into pre-natal health to the study of diet and obesity, her sharp intellect and boundless curiosity has made her one of the leading scientists in America – a remarkable thing to say, but inarguably true, which is why the University presents its 2016 Outstanding Scholarship Award to Elinor Sullivan, Department of Biology, with gratitude from colleagues and friends, and with sincere affection and regards from the University community.
Congratulations Dr. Sullivan! We are inspired by your continued success.
