Bornean Elephant Conservation Lecture

April 5, 2016 By Miranda

When: April 18, 2016. Doors open at 6 pm.

Where: Oregon Zoo’s Vista Room,  in the Cascade Crest Banquet Center. 4001 SW Canyon Road, Portland, OR 97221-9704.

As forests are cleared in Borneo to plant crops, Borneo pygmy elephants and other forest-dwelling species are increasingly coming into conflict with humans. Learn about on-the-ground efforts to improve conservation and reduce human-elephant conflicts from Farina Othman, a native Malaysian pursuing her Ph.D. in Conservation Biology and Genetics, and discover how you can join her work to make Borneo a better place for elephants.  Event is free.
