Dr. Hannah Callendar will be teaching a new course, Math Modeling in Biology, next fall. The only prerequisite is MTH 201 (either regular or biocalculus will work, you just need a C- or higher in 201). She would love to have a good mix of math and biology majors. Here are the details:
Course number: MTH 391
Meeting times: MWF 1:35-2:30
Bulletin description: Introduction to problem solving in the context of biology, with a focus on integrating analytical and computational tools in the modeling of biological processes. Techniques include difference equations, differential equations, probability theory, cellular automata, methods for model validation and parameter estimation.
If you have any further questions, she would be happy to chat with you! You can contact her at: callende@up.edu
