Here are his thoughts on the upcoming trip: I’m very excited to travel with our student to study in a place with such a rich history in human physiology. In fact, human physiology really began to blossom in England as far back as the 15th century with the Royal Society and eidolons like Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, Stephen Hales and Thomas Young to name just a few of the first. Since then, London and the surrounding areas re-main a center and focal point for leading human physiology research and instruction and has thus culminated in wonderful institutions, rich history, prominent historical sites, and museums throughout London and England. The London Human Physiology course will incorporate this history into the lectures and will include numerous excursions to these places with rich physiological history and significance. Imagine the class sipping high tea overlooking Big Ben while discussing how caffeine, circadian rhythms and melatonin are involved in our desynchronosis (jet lag)…. Sounds jolly good to me, I say!
