About the Senate
The ASUP Senate is a body of students who represent every full-time undergraduate at the University of Portland. The Senate is the legislative body of the student government and is made up of elected representatives from each class, school or college, and type of residency constituency. Students who wish to become members of the Senate should contact the Vice President, Olivia Mitchell to determine procedure and qualifications. The Senate meets on a weekly basis to discuss issues and make decisions that affect all students. The meetings provide an important forum for student involvement and are open the public. Students who do not have the time or missed the opportunity to join Senate but still want to get involved in the leadership of the Student Government should contact The Speaker of the Senate, Jordyn Mayer. There is always room for active leadership in ASUP in many different areas of concern and interest. Senate meetings occur every Monday at 4:30 PM in Dundon-Berchtold Hall 141.
