The ASUP Elections occur twice a year. The Fall Election is for Freshmen Class ASUP Senators and any resolutions to change, amend, or alter the ASUP Constitution that were passed post Spring Election. The Spring Election is for the ASUP Executive Board and the Senators/Speaker of the Senate.
The ASUP Elections Committee oversees both the Spring and Fall elections. The ASUP Vice-President is also the Elections Committee Chair, unless the VP chooses to appoint someone as chair.

What are the qualifications needed to run?
You must be a full-time undergraduate with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5, not be on academic or disciplinary probation and meet the specific qualifications relevant to the position for which you are applying. ASUP Senate Meetings are held Monday afternoon from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM and are required for all positions in this application.
There will be a MANDATORY meeting for all candidates at 6:30 pm on MONDAY, September 10th, 2018 in St. Mary’s Lounge. The rules and regulations of campaigning will be presented and specified; therefore it is IMPERATIVE that you attend. If you are unable to attend, you will need to set up an appointment with Michael Gallagher (ASUP Vice President) and Victoria Beccar Varela (Elections Committee Chair) before the 10th of September.
The Senate Retreat will be September 22nd, 2018. Please keep this date open on your calendar if you are applying. Please check your email on a regular basis for information regarding specific dates, places, and times regarding the application and election process.
